Political Misinformation

Wow, there is so much polarization and misinformation going on in politics nowadays. Chain e-mails, Facebook posts, blogs, sound bites... it's all very confusing. Hard for an average person to follow and figure out what's true and what's not. When I hear claims from either side that sound particularly atrocious or appalling, and when I receive chain e-mails making spectacular claims... I most often ignore them, ha. But sometimes it's worth the effort to do a little fact-checking and try to find out what's really going on. Here are a couple of independent, non-partisan sites that do just that:  http://www.factcheck.org and http://www.politifact.com.

Wanna go straight to a political chain e-mails file? On Politifact, go to "People" then "Chain E-mails."

And here's a Google list of fact-checking sites by the score.
